The 5th annual Whalefest took place in Monterey over the weekend. The event, which was held in front of the Old Fisherman’s Wharf, featured a 60-foot life-size whale model built by Monterey High Students, and representatives from marine organizations at local and national levels with displays educating festival-goers on the modern plights of whales in the world’s seas and the Monterey Bay.
