Three suspects are under arrest following a carjacking and chase that started in Watsonville Friday night. Shortly before 8, officers responded to Crestview and Madison Streets to a report of a woman robbed and carjacked at gunpoint. Police issued a county wide alert, moments later the stolen vehicle was spotted on Highway 1 and a pursuit ensued. The chase ended in Santa Cruz when the suspects crashed into a parked car on South Branciforte Street. Two juveniles were captured nearby. A helicopter aide in the search for the third suspect, 21-year-old Earvin Avalos Medrano was arrested shortly after midnight. All three suspects have been charged with carjacking and gang enhancements.
