A Branciforte Middle School theft victim received a Christmas surprise from the Santa Cruz Police Officer’s Association. The student’s family had contacted police on December 20th to report a stolen bicycle. When the officer taking the report learned the girl had just been awarded the new bike for her exemplary school work, he shared the report at the daily briefing. On Christmas morning a small procession of patrol cars and police motorcycles pulled up in front of the family’s home with a new bicycle for the student, gifts for her siblings, and a bike lock.
