The city of San Juan Bautista continues to see a decrease in the levels of nitrates in their drinking water. The current level is 22 to 25 milligrams per liter, which is well under the state maximum of 45 milligrams per liter. The city had to issue warnings in may of this year because the nitrates in two of their three wells were dangerously high.
