Activists for medical marijuana cultivation are concerned about pending Santa Cruz County legislation. County officials are drafting amendments to current cultivation laws. The proposals will address environmental and neighborhood issues caused by what cultivation proponents are calling a few bad growers. Activists are asking a delay of 90 days to participate in the process, in order to make sure that the changes don’t prohibit small operations and individuals from growing for dispensaries and for personal medical use. Currently the proposed changes are to go before the Board of Supervisors on January 13th.
