An unidentified man was arrested at the Santa Cruz County building for arson and burglary on Saturday. The incident began about 7 p.m. when fire fighters received a report of a fifth floor office fire. Fire crews arrived on the 700 block of Ocean Street and observed flames in a fifth floor window. Deputies accompanied firefighters to the location and found a man barricaded in an office. Officers forced the door open and arrested the suspect, described at this time, only as a non-county employee. The fire, confined to a metal bin, had already been extinguished. The incident remains under investigation.
