Although some locals are concerned that earlier holiday deals are keeping people from their families on Thanksgiving, statistics show that Thanksgiving shopping is on the rise. Black Friday store visits dropped by 5.6% nationally, and store visits on Thanksgiving were up by 27.3% this year. Expected projected sales for this two-day holiday shopping period is $12.29 billion.
