A two vehicle crash near Aromas killed two women and hospitalized a child on Saturday. The accident happened at about 3 p.m. on Highway 129 near Old Chittenden Road, when a westbound driver lost control of her vehicle and was broadsided by oncoming traffic in the eastbound lane. The driver and her front seat female passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. A boy in the backseat believed to be about 10-years-old was airlifted to a trauma center with life threatening injuries. The driver of the second vehicle was hospitalized with moderate injuries. The cause of the accident is under investigation; however weather is thought to be a key factor.
