A Salinas man was arrested and booked into Monterey County Jail for an alleged felony DUI this morning. 50-year-old Adam Zubiate was traveling at 90 miles-per-hour eastbound on Highway 68 west of Corral de Tierra Road, when he hit a utility worker in a construction zone just after 12 a.m. The 51-year-old Bay Traffic Solutions worker (whose name has yet to be released) was struck by the 1999 Mercedes Benz and was pronounced dead at the scene. Zubiate continued driving for a half mile before stopping his vehicle. Highway 68 was closed for over 2 hours while the CHP conducted their investigation.
