A Castroville man was arrested in Monterey this week for drug possession. Officials say the incident occurred on Soledad Drive near Viejo Road around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies pulled over 30-year-old Christopher Cofer for a vehicle code violation. Cofer told deputies he had marijuana inside his car. A search of his vehicle recovered a small amount of the drug as well as an expandable baton. Cofer was booked into Monterey County Jail.
