A SANTA CRUZ WOMAN WAS ARRESTED AND BOOKED INTO SANTA CRUZ COUNTY JAIL ON TUESDAY ON ONE COUNT OF AGGRAVATED ARSON. 34-YEAR-OLD ANNETTE CARRANZA WAS LIVING IN AN APARTMENT NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF 30TH AVENUE AND BROMMER STREET, WHEN HER APARTMENT CAUGHT FIRE AROUND 4 A-M ON SEPTEMBER 29TH. CARRANZA CLAIMS THAT THE FIRE STARTED ACCIDENTALLY, BUT AN INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT SHE HAD PURCHASED FIRE INSURANCE THE DAY AFTER HER LANDLORD TRIED TO EVICT HER. 6 UNITS WERE DEEMED UNINHABITABLE, AND 11 TENANTS WERE DISPLACED BY THE BLAZE.
