A LOCKDOWN AT SALINAS VALLEY STATE PRISON WAS LIFTED THIS WEEK. THE LOCKDOWN BEGAN AFTER AN INMATE REPORTED THAT ANOTHER INMATE SMUGGLED A DERRINGER INTO THE FACILITY BACK IN JUNE. CORRECTIONS OFFICERS COMBED THE FACILITY, AND DETERMINED THAT THE REPORT WAS UNFOUNDED. VISITATION HOURS HAVE BEEN RESTORED, AND THE FACILITY’S PROGRAMS HAVE RESUMED.
