Santa cruz’s new water district manager is slated to outline strategies for the department’s budget. At last weeks council meeting rosemary menard proposed A 25 million dollar budget. At tonight’s (tues) meeting, menard will outline how the water department plans to use the budget to address the aging infrastructure, the environmental impact issues, as well as the loss of revenue due to mandated water restrictions. Menard, who has been the new water district manager for 4 months, would also like to implement a website that would allow the 94 thousand district customers to monitor their water usage in real time without reading their meters.
