The next steps for a proposed Monterey County desalination plant got the green light this week. The Marina City Council voted yesterday to allow California American Water to perform water testing by drilling bore holes as part of a required hydrogeological study for the project’s environmental review. Cal Am expects to drill the holes this week on the Cemex site in North Marina. Officials say without council approval, the project would’ve been delayed between six to nine months.
