The flu has claimed the lives of three more people on the Central Coast. In Monterey County three more people have died of the flu, bringing the total now to five. In Santa Cruz County 2 people died because of the flu and San Benito County is reporting one flu-related death at this time. Emergency Hospital physicians report treating returning patients after they were initially treated for the flue several months prior. Officials say it’s still not too late to get a flu vaccine. The Monterey County Health Department says they are fully stocked with vaccines even after running out during a free flu clinic at Salinas Valley memorial Healthcare System last month.
