A Live Oak Mother and son, accused of killing a Capitola Property Manager last year, were held to answer on murder charges yesterday. 28-year old Daniel Cohen and 58-year old Diana Cohen were each held to answer on one count of murder in the November 9th death of Jonathan Gordon Smith. The ruling came after a Santa Cruz County Judge heard 2 days of testimony from 6 Capitola police officers and a Santa Cruz County Coroner. The Cohens are slated to return to court on February 13th, where a trial date is expected to be set. Both face 15-years to life in prison each if convicted of the murder charges.
