A CENTRAL COAST UNIVERSITY IS THE THIRD SCHOOL IN THE STATE TO REPORT A CASE OF VIRAL MENINGITIS IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS. A STUDENT, WHO LIVES OFF CAMPUS AT CAL POLY SAN LUIS OBISPO, WAS DIAGNOSED YESTERDAY, AND IS NOW UNDER-GOING TREATMENT. SCHOOL OFFICIALS SAY IT APPEARS TO BE AN ISOLATED CASE THAT DOESN’T POSE A RISK TO THE REST OF THE CAMPUS. MEANWHILE, FOUR STUDENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA SANTA BARBARA WERE DIAGNOSED LAST MONTH WITH THE DISEASE, ALONG WITH A STAFFER AT U-C RIVERSIDE.
