A SANTA CRUZ MAN WAS FOUND GUILTY OF ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON ON WEDNESDAY. 43 YEAR OLD WILLIAM ODESSA BROWN WAS CONVICTED FOR ATTACKING A CO-WORKER WITH A BOX CUTTER BACK IN APRIL. BROWN HAS PREVIOUS CONVICTIONS FOR FELONY ASSAULT AND VOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER FOR AN 1998 INCIDENT AT THE SANTA CRUZ HARBOR WHERE BROWN POURED GASOLINE ON A TRAILER HE SHARED WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND WHO DIED AFTER LIGHTING HERSELF ON FIRE DURING AN ARGUMENT. BROWN WAS SENTENCED TO 13 YEARS IN PRISON FOR HIS ROLE IN HER DEATH. HE IS DUE BACK IN COURT FOR SENTENCING FOR THE CURRENT CONVICTION ON FEBRUARY 19TH
