This week, the City of Seaside called off an environmental review of the proposed Monterey Downs project after $100,000 is still owed to the city by developers. The city issued the stop-work order Tuesday, the same day the Monterey-Downs backed Measure K was rejected by voters. At issue is a dispute with the city over a recent invoice. As of November 1st, Monterey Downs was over $113,000 in arrears. This is the 2nd time in a year the city has ordered the consulting group to stop work on the project over the same issue.
