THE FINAL SCORES RANKING NATIVIDAD MEDICAL CENTER AS THE MORE QUALIFIED FACILITY TO PURSUE THE LEVEL TWO STANDING COMPARED TO IT’S COMPETITOR SALINAS VALLEY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL WAS A DIFFERENCE OF LESS THAN 5%. EVALUATORS SCORED NATIVIDAD AT 533.7 COMPARED TO 508.3 BASED ON 21 CRITERIA. NATIVIDAD SCORED HIGHER IN 10 AREAS INCLUDING TRAUMA CENTER AND ROLE IN TRAUMA SYSTEM, HOSPITAL ORGANIZATION AND TRAUMA PROGRAM, GENERAL SURGERY CLINICAL FUNCTIONS, AND PEDIATRIC TRAUMA CARE, WHILE SVMH SCORED HIGHER IN THREE AREAS, INCLUDING NEUROSURGICAL CLINICAL FUNCTIONS, ORTHOPEDIC CLINICAL FUNCTIONS AND COLLABORATIVE CLINICAL SERVICES. NATIVIDAD’S TRAUMA CENTER IS SET TO OPEN IN JANUARY 2015.
