JUROR SELECTION NARROWS IN RUELAS MURDER TRIAL 09.12.13 0800 JJG

THE NUMBER OF POTENTIAL JURORS HAS BEEN NARROWED DOWN IN A 16-YEAR OLD MONTEREY COUNTY MURDER TRIAL.    HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WERE WHITTLED DOWN THIS WEEK TO 100 IN AN EFFORT TO FINALIZE 12 JURORS WITH TWO ALTERNATES FOR THE TRIAL OF 34-YEAR OLD JACOBO RUELAS.   RUELAS WAS CHARGED WITH THE 1997 MURDER OF MONTEREY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT, KRISTOPHER OLINGER.    HIS YOUNGER BROTHER, 24-YEAR OLD ANGEL RUELAS HAS PLEADED GUILTY TO SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES MURDER, KIDNAPPING, AND CARJACKING WITH GANG AND WEAPON CHARGES.   THE TRIAL FOR JACOBO RUELAS IS SET TO CONTINUE NEXT WEEK.
