Jon Brown, A Monterey County dispatcher, was arraigned today (Monday) on misdemeanor charges of theft for allegedly stealing more than $100 worth of groceries from a Salinas Safeway. At the arraignment, Brown asked for more time to hire an attorney and was ordered to appear in court again October 9th . Brown, who has worked for the county for five years, is on paid administrative leave.
