Shy Kids and Introverts- Guest: Dr. Aurianne Dorsay, Clinical Psychologist and Author of “Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking”
Topic: Shy children and introverts
My children were very shy when they first came into my home; they would never challenge or question me. I created a game. I’d see a cat on a sidewalk and yell, “Giant mountain lion!” or see a dark form in the woods and yell, “Giant grizzly bear!”
They’d say, “No, daddy, that’s a cat!” or “No, daddy, that’s a dead tree!”
Good news: they grew confident expressing their opinions.
Bad news: they think their dad is an idiot who can’t tell the difference between a chipmunk and a “Giant beaver!”
We’ll talk about shy kids, introverts, and the best-selling book Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking.
Guest: Aurianne Dorsay, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist in San Jose, California. She works with parents, children and families, across a variety of cultures.
