A MAN WHO DIED THIS WEEK IN A PEBBLE BEACH SCUBA DIVING ACCIDENT, HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS A SANTA CRUZ RESIDENT. AUTHORITIES SAY 66-YEAR OLD DAVID MICHAEL JONES WAS DIVING OFF STILLWATER COVE MONDAY, WHEN HE ENCOUNTERED TROUBLE AROUND 11:15 A.M. FIREFIGHTERS RESPONDED IN A FIRE BOAT, WHERE JONES WAS GIVEN CPR BEFORE BEING BROUGHT BACK TO SHORE. HE WAS TAKEN TO COMMUNITY HOSPITAL OF THE MONTEREY PENINSULA WHERE HE WAS DECLARED DEAD.
