OVER FIFTY ROOSTERS WERE RESCUED OVER THE WEEKEND AFTER A COCKFIGHTING OPERATION WAS BUSTED IN AROMAS. SANTA CRUZ COUNTY SHERIFFS DEPUTIES ARRIVED TO A HEAVILY-WOODED AREA ON RIVERSIDE DRIVE YESTERDAY (SUN) AT ABOUT 8 A.M. TO FIND NEARLY A HUNDRED SUSPECTS FLEEING THE SCENE. AUTHORITIES FOUND THE ROOSTERS IN BOXES AND CAGES ALONG WITH AN AREA USED FOR COCK FIGHTING. 5-THOUSAND DOLLARS WILL BE AWARDED TO ANYONE WITH INFORMATION LEADING TO THE ARREST AND CONVICTION OF THE SUSPECTS. MEANWHILE, THE ANIMALS HAVE BEEN TAKEN TO ASANTA CRUZ COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER.
