On Wednesday, the California state assembly passed a bill that would allow people without a social security number the right to apply for a California driver’s license.
The Bill, AB 60 now moves to the Senate and if approved, would take effect January 1st 2015.
Applicants would have to show other forms of identification and pass a drivers test.
Assembly member and Watsonville native, Luis Alejo created the bill he says, in an attempt to make California roads safer.
