A 21 HUNDRED-MILE ROWING RACE, FROM CALIFORNIA TO HAWAII, IN JUNE, WILL BEGIN IN MONTEREY. THE CONTEST,
WHICH COULD TAKE FOUR-PERSON CREWS 30 DAYS OR MORE, AND INDIVIDUALS, UP TO 100 DAYS TO FINISH, WILL OFFER
STREAMING VIDEOS, AND ON-LINE TRACKING OF VESSELS. AS OF THIS TIME, 15 CREWS MADE UP OF 38 PARTICIPANTS,
HAVE SIGNED UP. CREWS FROM, NEW ZEALAND, IRELAND, FRANCE, THE UNITED KINGDOM AND THE UNITED STATES PLUS
MANY OTHERS WILL MAKE UP THE FIELD. MONTEREY WAS CHOSEN BECAUSE OF AVAILABLE FACILITIES, LOCAL SUPPORT
AND WEATHER.
