2 TEENS WERE ARRESTED IN WATSONVILLE OVER THE WEEKEND, AFTER THEY WERE SEEN TRYING TO BREAK INTO MINTIE WHITE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ON THE 500 BLOCK OF PALM AVENUE. THE 15 AND 16 YEAR-OLD BOYS WERE CARRYING BURGLARY TOOLS WHEN THEY WERE ARRESTED BY WATSONVILLE POLICE OFFICERS. THE BOYS FACE POSSIBLE CHARGES OF BURGLARY, RESISTING ARREST, POSSESSION OF BURGLARY TOOLS, AND VIOLATION OF PROBATION.
POLICE OFFICERS WERE ALREADY ON HEIGHTENED AWARENESS BECAUSE OF THE RECENT RASH OF SCHOOL BURGLARIES IN WHICH 4 MINTIE WHITE CLASSROOMS WERE VANDALIZED, AND MORE THAN 100 iPads AND OTHER ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT HAS BEEN STOLEN FROM SCHOOLS THAT ARE IN AND AROUND WATSONVILLE AND APTOS.
