29-YEAR-OLD NICHOLAS BEUS, OF FELTON, WAS SENTENCED TO 18
YEARS IN PRISON ON FRIDAY. BEUS, A CAREER CRIMINAL WAS
SENTENCED ON MULTIPLE CHARGES, INCLUDING FIRST AND SECOND
DEGREE RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY, GRAND THEFT, EVADING AN OFFICER
AND BEING A THREE STRIKES OFFENDER. HE ALSO LED POLICE ON
MULTIPLE HIGH SPEED CHASES USING STOLEN VEHICLES AND ALSO
HAD OTHER PRIOR FELONY VIOLATIONS. BEUS WAS FACING FOUR
TWENTY-FIVE YEARS TO LIFE SENTENCES. SANTA CRUZ COUNTY
SUPERIOR COURT JUDGE ARIADNE SYMONS SENTENCED BEUS. HE IS
EXPECTED TO SERVE 85% OF HIS TIME BECAUSE OF HIS CRIMINAL PAST.
