Three bay area residents have been indicted by a federal grand jury on fraud and other charges including a 51-year-old Gilroy woman. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Anita Sharma, along with two men, committed mail fraud, bank fraud, and made false statements on residential mortgage loan applications for more than $2.1 million. Four properties in Sacramento, Stockton, Modesto, and Elk Grove were charged in the 12-count indictment. Those properties were all subject to foreclosure, which resulted in the loss of more than $1.2 million.
