FIREFIGHTERS FROM CAL FIRE, BOULDER CREEK, BEN LOMOND, FELTON AND ZAYANTE RESPONDED TO A FIRE ON OLD COUNTY HIGHWAY AND HIGHWAY 9 YESTERDAY. THE FIRE WAS REPORTED AT APPROXIMATELY 7:30 P.M. AND RESPONDING FIREFIGHTERS THAT ARRIVED ON THE SCENE FOUND A TWO-STORY BUILDING COMPLETELY ENGULFED IN FLAME. HIGHWAY 9 WAS CLOSED IN BOTH DIRECTIONS FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR WHILE FIREFIGHTERS FOUGHT THE BLAZE THAT APPARENTLY ORIGINATED FROM A BOY LIVING IN THE HOME PLAYING WITH A LIGHTER. THE FATHER OF THE YOUNG BOY THOUGHT HIS SON WAS STILL INSIDE THE HOME SO HE RAN IN; SUFFERING MINOR BURNS BUT HOSPITALIZATION WASN’T NECESSARY.
