THE NUMBER OF ELEMENTARY STUDENTS IN SANTA CRUZ CITY SCHOOLS IS GROWING AT SUCH A STEADY RATE, DISTRICT LEADERS SAY THEY WOULD STRONGLY CONSIDER RE-OPENING ONE OF THE TWO CAMPUSES SHUT DOWN IN 2004. ENROLLMENT NUMBERS FOR THE 2012-2013 SCHOOL YEAR PLACE THREE OF FOUR SCHOOLS FOR THE DISTRICT AT AN EXTRA 100 STUDENTS OR MORE THEN THE CAMPUS WAS DESIGNED FOR. DISTRICT LEADERS SAY THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS WERE BUILT FOR 450 STUDENTS EACH, WHILE SCHOOLS LIKE WESTLAKE AND DELAVEAGA SIT AT BETWEEN 600 AND 650 STUDENTS EACH. ALTHOUGH NOT FEASIBLE CURRENTLY, THE DISTRICT PLANS TO LOOK INTO THIS IN THE COMING YEARS.
