A physician based in soquel has been sanctioned by the state medical board. Doctor thomas yarema faces 3-years’ probation, for prescribing medical marijuana to a patient that was later stopped while driving with a digital scale and marijuana in his vehicle. An investigation revealed that doctor yarema wrote the prescription without obtaining the patient’s medical records. The incident occurred before yarema started at the center for wellness and integrative medicine in soquel, (where he now practices). Yarema’s license will be reinstated after the probation period, if he completes a series of training courses.
