a 20-year-old man was assaulted and robbed while walking through salinas’ central park on saturday night. 3-suspects approached the victim from behind, and used a knife and stick to assault the man. 1-suspect cut the victim on the cheek with a knife, before the-3 fled with the victim’s cell phone and a sony hand held video game player. the victim was treated at a local hospital for his non-threatening injury. the suspects fled toward hartnell college, and were not immediately located. as of early sunday morning, no arrests had been made.
