The trial for a Salinas man accused of killing a homeless man in January may again need to be delayed. Adnan Nijmeddin is accused of running over a homeless man with his car, then backing up and doing it again. Nijmeddin is scheduled to go to trial on Monday, but at a pre-trial hearing yesterday, his attorney claimed a conflict of interest. Attorney Scott Erdbacher told the court he had previously represented a man who is a victim and witness in this case, and was released by the judge. Nijmeddin asked to represent himself, which will be considered at a hearing tomorrow. Unless the request is granted, a new trial date is expected to allow a new attorney to familiarize himself with the case.
