A shooting last night in Salinas is thought to be gang related and left one man in serious condition. The 21-year-old victim was walking on Gabilan Street around 8pm when he was approached by 3 men in their early 20’s. the suspects challenged the man, asking about his gang affiliation. The victim denied gang involvement and began to leave, when he was shot in the back several times with a small caliber handgun. The man was able to run away and make it to a pub on Monterey Street where he waited for help to arrive. The victim was airlifted to a Bay Area trauma center in serious medical condition.
