Pajaro valley unified school district trustee Sandra Nichols has announced her resignation from the board. Nichols is stepping down in order to run for a seat on the santa cruz county board of education. Nichols is in her 3rd term on the board of trustees. She will face retired educator james spano in the race to fill the open seat on the board of education.
