Salinas Police responded to a robbery at the Wal-Mart on North Main Street last night. The robber entered the store around 10:30pm and approached a clerk at a front check-out counter. He then pulled out a semi-automatic handgun and threatened to shoot the clerk if he did not open the register. The clerk complied, and the suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled. He ran to the parking lot where he reportedly got into a newer black sedan and drove off. The suspect is described as a man between 25 and 30, last seen wearing an LA Dodgers hat with a dark blue windbreaker and khaki pants. He also had a thick goatee. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Salinas Police Department.
