Three women were robbed at gunpoint last night in a Capitola parking lot. The victims were sitting in a car in the Brown Ranch Marketplace parking lot just before 9pm when they were approached by a man whose face was covered by a red bandana. The man brandished a handgun and demanded the women turn over their property. The three vicims handed their purses to the thief, and he left the area on foot. Capitola Police and Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies searched the area with a K9 unit, but were unable to locate the robber. The investigation is still ongoing.
