Marina city council members are scheduled this evening to discuss a plan to hire a new city manager. The hiring of a permanent replacement for tony altfeld was expected to be delayed until after the November election, however a majority has agreed to consider the matter sooner. altfeld was fired in march, by a council vote of 3 to 2. doug yount has been serving as interim-city manager. City council members want to explore hiring a candidate that would accept less than the previous city manager (and current city administrators) are paid. The matter is set to be discussed at the city council’s 6:30 p.m. meeting.
