this week is recognized as “dog bite prevention week” by the u.s. postal service, the s.p.c.a. and animal control agencies. officials at the monterey county spca say to always be on the lookout for potentially dangerous animals, teach children to be careful around pets, and to ask permission to pet a dog from the owner. last year, 355 dog bites were reported in monterey county.
