THE LARGEST PRIVATE EMPLOYER IN SALINAS (h.s.b.c.) was bought out YESTERDAY….AND TODAY THE 850 EMPLOYEES of the h.s.b.c. credit card processing facility on schilling place were told THEY WILL BE LAID OFF. in fact, the entire facility is now slated to be closed by the summer of 2013.
capital one, which had initially assured h.s.b.c. employees that they would not find themselves jobless after the takeover, opened a new credit card facility in sioux falls south dakota today. a spokesman for capital one has said they plan to add 400 jobs at their south dakota plant.
