the united states army recently honored a gilroy native and her husband for their service to the nation and its soldiers. lori borgna-strong earned the commander’s award for public service for her outstanding service as a volunteer and community leader supporting the quality of life for soldiers and their families. her husband, major general randolph strong, was presented with the distinguished service cross for exceptional merit throughout his 34 year career with the united states army.
