Authorities have released the identity of the 6-year-old girl that died after being struck by a large log at a santa cruz county beach on thursday. San Jose resident Lara Rekhi was struck by a 10-foot-long log, as she played at the shoreline at 24th avenue (in the live oak area). The log was thrown by a wave, and knocked rekhi to the ground. she suffered a fractured skull.
