it looks as though the pebble beach company will have to include 22 units of affordable housing in its plans to build-out its forest property. in a 6-1 vote (yesterday) the housing advisory committee voted to require all of the project’s allocation of affordable homes be built on-site….as moderate-income rental units. the company would then pay an in-lieu fee to cover the remainder of the affordable units.
this is a change from when county housing staff recommended 8-12 units of affordable housing units be built on-site. monterey county supervisors are scheduled to consider this project in may or june.
