Santa cruz city leaders both past and present gathered yesterday, to proclaim april 1st “proclamation day.” the fundraising-event made light of the often-passed local proclamations from santa cruz mayors and city councils. Several former mayors, along with current mayor don lane, gathered on pacific avenue and church street, to talk about their favorite resolutions, and encourage others to write their own. The event served as a fundraiser for the teen center at the louden nelson community center. mayor don lane unveiled a giant proclamation from the Rittenhouse building, in observance of the fundraiser. The teen center is run by the santa cruz parks and recreation department.
