A german Sheppard that formerly served as a Watsonville police officer, has been seized by the SPCA for monterey county. the dog’s former partner, and now previous owner, former Watsonville police officer Francisco Ibarra, is facing misdemeanor charges of failing to take car of an animal. A concerned neighbor previously reported the emaciated dog, and after Ibarra failed to respond to questions from the SPCA, the dog, named Ingo was seized by authorities. In a separate case, Ibarra is suing the city of Watsonville because he was fired from the police department in 2010.
