A fire broke out south of salinas monday afternoon, causing road closures in the area of old stage road. The fire was reported just after 2 p.m. C-H-P blocked old stage road at Iverson road, and other connecting streets (near the 25-thousand block of old stage road). The flames originated in a shed. Firefighters were able to contain the fire before any houses were damaged, however some vehicles near the shed were burned. No injuries were reported; the cause of the fire is under investigation.
