Local celebrity Chris Renee brought his music home to Santa Cruz on Sunday. Renee played a sold-out show at the santa cruz civic auditorium, showcasing the talent that propelled him to the final round of FOX’s TV show “The X-Factor.” Mayor Don Lane read a proclamation declaring January 29th “Chris Renee Day” in Santa Cruz. 29-year-old Renee placed 3rd in the national talent search-show, and recently signed a recording deal with “Epic Records.” A portion of the show’s proceeds were donated to the drug treatment center Janus of Santa Cruz, which Chris Renee credits for helping turn his life around.
