A sacramento superior court judge HAS TOSSED OUT A LAWSUIT AGAINST THE SANTA CRUZ COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS. THE LAWSUIT, FILED ON BEHALF OF the CITIZENS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY (AND STOP the RODEO) CHALLENGED THE APPROPRIATENESS OF HOLDING THE CHARITY RODEO AT THE FAIRGROUNDS THIS PAST OCTOBER. THE JUDGE SAID THE PLAINTIFFS DID NOT PROVIDE ANY SOLID EVIDENCE THAT the LIVESTOCK WOULD: POSE ANY RISK TO the ENVIRONMENT, OR the PUBLIC. HE FURTHER RULED THAT HOLDING A RODEO ON the FAIRGROUNDS WAS IN KEEPING WITH THE FAIRGROUNDS HISTORIC PRACTICES….AND SO AN ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REVIEW WAS NOT NECESSARY.
